New $30 Plan on MPCS

The new MPCS Plan $30 1GB 4G speed for any 3G/4G phone, NOT 4GLte.
If I was to go this route could I put New SIM into Nexus 5 and just not have 4G Lte?

According to Ninjews post here the $30 non-LTE plan wont work with BYOD:

"No metro LTE devices, CDMA metro phones and BYOD will be able to get on this plan."

Metro wants you to buy one of their 4g (No LTE) phones
Also, I don't believe Metro lets you swap sims, don't you have to call in the new phone IMEI to allow service?

Yeah, you can't hot swap, you have to go to the store (pay 15 dollars for the change) or call from a phone not being disconnected or connected and ask them to do the swap and it's free
