New 32g SD card

So I just bought a new 32g SD card for my HTC evo 4g and there was like 3g already used up. Is this a factory thing and I need to wipe it? Another question; does my phone support larger SD cards? I don't see myself using up the 32g anytime soon, but it would be nice to know.

You should be able to use a 64 GB micro SDXC, but you'll have to reformat it as FAT32 (they come from the factory as exFAT). Right now, 64 GB is the largest card you can get in the micro form factor.
