New and looking into rooting, etc

Hey I just signed up and I've been putting it off but I'd like to root my Galaxy Nexus and put a new rom on it. I've heard it isn't too hard as long as you really look into it lol.

So far I am reading through the "[HOW TO] Root the GSM/HSPA+ Samsung Galaxy Nexus" in your FAQs.

I am just at the part where I am going to try installing drivers for my phone to my computer. Even though I could swear Windows did it for me?

I've found a ROM called "Android Revolution Hd
