So i recently switched from an iPhone 6 to a Nexus 6p after using an iPhone for the last 7 years i decided to make the switch.

Im just wondering what the best tips are for someone who is new to the android platform?

side note ive already rooted my Nexus 6p as it seemed the logical thing to do as i came from always using a jailbroken iPhone

i agree about about 2 months ago i switched from 6s to s7 and that helped alot. also go to gsmarena and read read about your phone!

First off, welcome to android!

Do note, the worlds of jailbroken iPhone and a rooted android are different in a number of ways. As a rooted user- you now have full administrator rights on the device. This is a powerful thing, but make sure you put the time in to know what you are doing before making changes. Luckily google gives us everything we need to recover if things go wrong, but its best to not have to get there in the first place

El Goog also has no issues with a rooted phone, so your warranty is still intact!

As for general android tips - pay attention to your sync settings. You can save yourself a bit of juice by going through there and making sure you are only syncing what is needed.

Definitely be sure to check your sync like rxpert said - to make sure that you are only regularly grabbing what you need.

You likely have some experience with this from having an iPhone - but make sure you check out a few different launchers to figure out which option works best for you. I'm a big fan of Action Launcher, if you want something more powerful than the stock google now launcher.

Unlike with iOS, you can select the default for every single thing on your phone - from phone calls to web browsers. Find the apps that work best for you, and you can set them as the default action for <X>.
