New calendar entries disappear 10 secs after entering

Starting today, when I try to add a calendar entry to the Droid, it appears, then about 10 second later fades away! The existing entries are fine. Any clues? Not a syncing issue.

I noticed that calendar was still defaulting to 2009 so I thought I lost the a couple events but they were just a year off.

Also, deleted some apps that were supposed to sync Outlook with Google calendar.
