Apps New Droid developer with some questions...

I put some questions in my intro message. The mods apparently bumped it over to the old Dev Lounge, where I doubt if it will be seen.

The gist of it is, I'm an experienced professional mobile developer, and I've seen how some carriers (esp VZW) place roadblocks in the way of app development. I'm trying to determine if commercial Android development and deployment on the Verizon Droid is as easy and open as it seems, or whether there are some 'gotchas'.

I posted a basic answer in the original thread. I am still pretty new to development, so I didn't have answers to your questions about SMS and interfacing with calls, but other than that, I think I got everything you asked about.
