New Facebook today ?

I like it! Mine hadn't updated when you posted this so I was confused but now it is. So far I think it's pretty darn good. Haven't played w/it much yet but it certainly is a huge improvement.
 
I liked it when I saw it this morning as it's more like the touch site but it caused my phone to have a major meltdown over the next hour! 3G stopped working, my ringer volume went haywire in that when I tried to turn down the volume it changed the media volume even though I had no media on! It kept then telling me that I had no internet connection even though I did and also keeps giving me various error messages about timeouts etc

I have unistalled and my phone seems to be calming down now.

Do you have FB set to sync automatically or manually? If manual go to my apps in market and you can update from there. If auto it should have done it automatically so not sure why you wouldn't have it :(

I have it set to manual but I did go to the My Apps section of the market and take a look already. Maybe it's done by region? There was an update a few days ago?
 
A friend showed the new Facebook app to me today. It looks a LOT better, Has anyone got any thoughts on how it compares to FriendCaster Pro?
 
Looking through all of the comments, a lot of people are experiencing constant updating. One comment suggested logging out and back in again. Has anyone experienced this and does logging out and back in fix the issue?

I've been wary of updating some apps due to a bad experience one time. I've been hesitant about updating FB due to the many negative comments I have seen in the market place. Of all the apps that I use, FB seems to have so many negative comments.

The log out/in trick works. I was also having the updating issue. I also had the issue of my phone freaking out on me last night after the update kicked in (2 days or so after DLing update). Not sure of effect on battery life yet.

I have a sinking suspicion that this update is why my phone dies so fast. Not happy if that's what it is.
 
My phone had a total brain fart after installing this update yesterday and I had to uninstall.

I've tried re-installing but the NewsFeed page constantly hangs on loading and then tells me I don't have an internet connection; all other pages work fine! I've heard of one other case of this happening with a DHD and if you go onto the FB app page in market a lot of people are reporting issues with the update.
 
yeah my facebook has been acting up since yesterday, too. I updated it the other night and all of a sudden it's stopped working...might just uninstall altogether.

Good idea Stuntman. I did the update and then uninstalled and now just use a shortcut to the browser rather than have it screw up my phone anymore.

same....back when it was 1.5.x I held out till they fixed the picture bugs and that worked FINALLY after a lil while with 1.5.4 I havent even DREAMED of touching update yet till I know more things are sorted..

my fiance and friend on the other hand BOTH had auto updates turned on...so got them to uninstall (after the bugs of course) and then google for an older version (v1.5.4)...which given that its a free app, is totally legit to do...right? (also ok to mention on here? if not I'll edit that out lol)
