I do not have a G1 - won't pay the premium for it w/ no G3 service within 100 miles.

I converted my basic single service to a big family plan for my wife and 2 kids last week. While speaking with one of the T-Mobile reps, I mentioned I would really like to have a G1, but couldn't see any reason to pay so much for it w/o G3. She said, "wait a while and T-Mobile may have a G1 for you."

I don't know if that was simple chatter or a slip of a confidential plan, but I found it interesting, living here w/ no prospect of G3 coming my way for quite a while .

Good news for me, I too live in Columbus, GA and was hoping 3G would be coming our way as At&t already has it here. I hope we can here more details about this even though I will get the G1 with or without 3G as atleast we have EDGE here.

Well, first of all, welcome you both. I hope they do get the 3G network in your area quickly as it'd really suck not to have.
