I just saw this article on CNET about Google updating and making it an individual app. No news about this from anyone.
 
I can't find it on the market. I wonder if I can use mixzing instead of music, unless they fixed the music not coming back from pause when a navigation direction is given.
 
I downloaded it using the link from the CNET article. I really don't use the car doc but it looks like they made some nice changes. Once you download It will give you the option to open when you open the stock car home.
 
I really wish I could use it with Cyanogen because I drive alot constantly have to fumble around with my phone in my lap. I bought a Garmin car mount and am going to super glue a holster to the "C" clip so that I have a good looking car mount because the after market ones are shite. I really wish HTC would have lived up to making or having accessories made for our phones, hell the TV out cable barely made it out the door in my opinion.

You don't need a home replacement to put the app on one of your screens... BetterCut works for that as well (I posted that on droid-life as well)

The music icon does not work...but since you can add icons to whatever you want...I added one for Mixzing.

I only wish you could add toggle widgets.
 
Using it on my Dinc now, and the panel to work fine as long as I don't go to settings. I get an FC or full freezing up if I try to modify anything. Default buttons work well at least. looks much better than the stock HTC one if they get it working on the Dinc.

Downloaded from the Market onto my HTC EVO last night, Official 2.2(Froyo), selecting Car Panel launches "Car Home".

Now i just need to purchase a car dock, Seidio innotraveler.

Everything about it works on the Virtuous ROM except if you go into Android Settings. Then it FCs. Everything else seems to work on it for me.
 
Strange. I downloaded the APK from Droid-Life when it was being hosted and now it seems the post in its entirety was taken down.

I attempted to install it using Astro, which it did, but when I attempted to Launch it, it told me it couldn't.

Anyone else get this to work?

Note: I have a Droid X and the Card Dock (not the version in question) came preloaded. Maybe it's a conflict in software?
 
I just dl-ed it. I have the Incredible htc stock setup. The two things that don't work so far is the Android settings and wallpaper options after pressing menu. It doesn't show up as a separate program shortcut, there's an option to use htc car panel and car home after clicking on the car panel shortcut.
