For android education, all you need to do is spend some time searching and reading up on basic terminologies and stuff, use google, its your best friend.

Look in these forums also, they are a gold mine of education.

S5830D is pretty much the same as the regular S5830 model, the 'D' is only for the region, you can use the stuff made for S5830 on your phone, but don't use the S5830i's stuff, that's a totally different model.

So i tried the hole zip thing on sd card and said aborted so insucseful first try will b trying a difent method

Ok so i rooted my gts5830 whit a uneversal root zip i curently have gingerbread 2.3.4 i tought i could back up my efs files but tirns out on the gts 5830 they are patician fils so no wonder efs pro wouldent work so my question is do i halfto unroot and resta art whit clockworckmod and those this mod allow me to back up theese files i need help here if annyone can help me out let me know i havent flashed anny roms i aint got a back up and not to sure what to do at this point

You have rooted, you have CWM installed, now you are all set for flashing roms/patches/mods or anything you want to do, there is no need of unrooting and doing everything all over again unless you actually want to unroot.
If you are worried about messing up then you have the option of making a complete nandroid backup of your system through CWM.
Go to the ace's forums at xda-developers, its got tonnes of roms available for this phone, get anyone you like, flashing procedure is given in the forum, its almost same for every rom, its done using CWM so you don't need anything else, you are ready.

P.S. If you flash a CM based rom or any rom having ext format then this backup will not help because of the different format, in that case you will have to flash a stock firmware through Odin first and then you will be able to restore this backup. Flash a new rom, make a backup of it while its working properly so that in case of any problems you can restore back to it without any problems.

So ur saying a already have cwm how do.i run cwm could u send me a link i was looking a forum that was saying to upgrad to 2.3.6 true kies then put cwm then root..... im rooted whit the unevirsal_gb_25 zip and i dont see cwm if i do then id lile to back it up as is if i dont halfto restart the prosses thanks

So tryed a zip 4 clockworckmod to get an error 7 and tryed doing it true odin but it wont reconize the phone and i wish someone could tell me what im doing wrong

Did you follow the procedure that i gave link for?

Search in xda about other S5830D users flashing CWM, maybe they also faced this problem and can help you better in solving it.

I have some where saying to use a stock usb cable so i did and nothing im wondering if i should unroot and give up at this point

Rooting has nothing to do with this, make sure you are using the correct files, you have the correct drivers, the ops files, the recovery file and the phone is in download mode, there shouldn't be any problem.
If nothing works then try a different computer or a different usb port.

CLOCKWORKMOD INSTALLD NEEDED A SINGED COOPIE OF THE ZIP FOR THE GTS5830D aperently the d was an issue now to do nandroid backup and open up annoter can of worms
