New icons that will not remove or uninstall

My friend (who is not at all tech savvy and I am so so) has 4 new icons on her S9 home page that will not remove.. I have no idea where the come from.. They seem to be called Function.. The big earth globe one will remove but comes back with doing page changes.. The other 3 will not remove or uninstall and will open to a reminders calendar and other pages.. one opens to mail wanting to know which mail.. anybody seen these.. Tried removing Function from APP'S but no luck

Well it's part of the home screen, which is handled by an app called the "launcher" and it looks like the launcher has them pre-defined on the screen...
She can install a different launcher from the play store, such as nova launcher, which I use, which gives you the option to make your home screens any way you want them to be.

well the good news is she has found away to remove them... the bad news is we have no idea what they were or where they came from.. thank you for you help. i am sure it will come in handy at some time
