New icons?

Hi all,

My A5 seems to have acquired some new icons. First is the old screen, next the current screen.
Can somebody identify/explain the new/changed icons, please?

Triangle : Samsung Data Saving Mode

You have Mobile / Cell Data on.
Your Carrier / Network may have changed how it displays this depending on speed available.

Just to add, the first screen capture shows the WiFi icon but no mobile data icon - indicating your WiFi is enabled but not mobile data.
The second screen cap shows the mobile data icon (4G) but no WiFi icon - indicating you have since enabled mobile data and disabled WiFi.

Data saving doesn't get a mention, nor is there a data saving symbol on the Indicator Icons page.

The recycle looking icon on the left shows Data Saver is on. This is a feature of some Samsung devices.


FWIW this is how the notification looks on my Note20, which is a bit different to the A5.

It's been an Android feature for some time now. I used to enable it but stopped when data caps on mobile data became less of an issue.

Ian, FYI your first pic doesn't show the a 4G data icon, meaning mobile data was off, and so it won't show the Data Saver recycle icon in that mode.

Thanks Mike. I usually have mobile data set on but can't be sure about the first photo as it was from an old screen shot. My main concern was that, in messing around with power saving settings (battery's past its best) I may have inadvertently set up the phone to use mobile data as a priority over wifi. Looks OK, though.
