New iPhone users report feeling "nausea" and "headaches"

It's not just new iPhone users, it's a percentage of anyone who has upgraded to iOS7. They tried to get too cute with the parallax effect and the zooming animations, it is a bit gut wrenching from time to time, especially after a few cocktails :)

Well I wouldn't be overly surprised by it. I played the game Half-life a lot on my PC. When I got a new much larger monitor, I found myself feeling a bit queasy after only a few minutes of play. My guess is that the people affected by it are focusing intently on the screen, and the movement seen is in conflict with the inner ear balance.

Yeah I could never play first-person shooters on my PC. I was OK if it was third person (i.e. you could see your guy in front of you), but if it was first person I would feel sick (and remain feeling sick for awhile after stopping). Real bummer.

Too busy screen motion can cause all that. Same thing about 3D movies. There is good reason why 3d movies are not 3d for whole 2 hours.

Golden Eye for the N64 made me barf my brains out in the bathroom sink once.

Oddly enough i have no issues with the parallax affect of IOS7.

i get sick by looking at iOS 7, but more because of how primitive it feels. i don't need to relive the dark days of computing back in the 1980s-90s again. it was not good then, surely not good to relive it with a more modern spin. I might use Android, but i still use my Apple products and still buy them. i'm not exclusive to one or the other. but iOS 7 is making me want to ditch Apple completely..

The story says "Others complain of “vertigo” when apps “zoom” in and out" .... seems like iOS7 can be very 3D and vivid to me...and rather unlike 1980s. That is same sort of effect you might get on a ghost train...:vamp:

BTW I've not actually tried iOS7 for myself yet, only seen screen-shots.

actually, given the low-resolution monitors and early GUIs attempts at taking advantage of them, CRT screen flicker and such, you could easily get eye strain and headaches if you stare at one long enough. the old WYSE terminals often gave me headaches when i worked at dad's office. staring hours upon hours at flickering serif fonts in old SCO UNIX/XENIX. never again.
