New Kies Version Available - Anybody Tried It

In Help/Check for Updates menu, there is a new version of Samsung Kies available. I have been watching this since the last OTA. On my AT&T I-747 phone after the 9/13 OTA, when I connected the phone to Kies, it displays banner message that says "This phone can no longer be updated using Kies" I assumed this was because the firmware ID changed and Keis was not updated to mate with the phone with the OTA firmware upgrade.

Has anyone tried the update version of Kies? One user over on the official Samsung forum said he was experiencing some Windows 7 problems after the Kies update was installed. I want to be ready to use Kies for the Jelly Bean update when it becomes available later this fall .

I updated my kies and I run Windows 7. Before when I used kies I couldn't finish a backup. It would freeze halfway through it and I would have to cancel the whole thing. With the update it worked just fine and my back up only took a few minutes. Other than backing up my phone I haven't done anything else with kies. I see you're on AT&T and I don't know if you have seen a similar message, but I am on Verizon and on kies I saw that my phone is not going to be able to get jelly bean through kies. It says Verizon is OTA only which really sucks.

Must remember to check this out, I can't get it to run on the Windows 8 preview that I'm using at the moment. Can only use Kies Air
 
Just updated, still connection problem, shows on the Kies connected devices GT-I9300 and the timer wheel going round and round and round and round....:confused: but not connecting! Even in my task bar it shows eject media device icon.

Why am I still not able to connect!? :mad:
 
Still not working, although discovered it probably won't until Windows 8 is officially released. They don't work on compatibility for Release Previews which is fair enough I suppose.
