Is it safe to use my old battery (that got wet) on my new phone as a second battery? Or would that affect my phone negatively?

Personally, I would avoid it unless you had no other choice. Battery + water is never a good, or safe, combination.

The manufacturer will tell you it's ok, and it probably is, but I'd only use it as an emergency last resort. Batteries go bad the second they're used, so an older on could fry your pretty, new, phone

They are so super cheap via eBAY or Amazon, that I'd just purchase another. Not worth the risk in my opinion.
