Hi everyone -- new poster here. So I'm one of the crazy ones who jumped aboard the Verizon Pixel XL bandwagon. I know that's not the popular route due to the locked boot-loader, but I took advantage of the Black Friday sale and it was a good time to get a new phone. My first choice phone was actually not on sale, the Pixel XL was my second choice -- but I'm glad it worked out this way due to the following advantages:
- Smooth, stutterless, stock OS
- Better Battery
- Excellent camera
Like most, I do wish the phone had a little more internal storage (had to go with the 32G) -- if I could pick one thing to improve, it would be that (and then waterproofing). So I'll be making use of the free photo/video storage. I don't really care about the lack of microSD (per se), but more internal storage would have been nice -- I'd prefer that over a microSD slot, personally. While the phone is notably short on some features, I'm ready to enjoy its performance and simplicity. I'm pretty psyched at a time when a lot of people are down on the phone for what it lacks.
Also like others, I didn't care for the Pixel design when I saw pictures, but I found it to be much better in person, and the OS made it that much more appealing.
Previous phones: Motorola Droid X, Samsung S3, Samsung Note 4, HTC Desire 626 (low-cost temporary replacement)
I wasn't able to take the phone home with me -- it wasn't in stock. So I'm in line waiting for it to arrive in a couple of weeks. I plan to get the Daydream as well at some point.
