Question... the Tmo article says $30 plan AND HIGHER so my question is... once you activate this with the included $30 card can you then upgrade to the $50 plan?

You can change your plan, but to go back to the $30 deal you'll need a new sim, as that plan is for "new customers" only.

Thanks. I'm an older guy so talk is more my thing... more so than the data or texting so once I upgraded to the $50 plan I would not be going back to the $30 plan. I know there are ways to talk more with the $30 plan but again... being an older guy... I'm not much on doing things outside the box. Good to know I could upgrade though! Thanks!

You just activate on the plan you want, the card isn't needed for activation. It is essentially a "gift card", when you use it, it simply adds $30 to your prepaid account. So, since you want the $50 plan, you activate your account using that plan and then you merely need to add another $20 to your account to be able to start your first month of service.

Personally, my preference is still the unlocked Galaxy Nexus from Google over the Galaxy SII; especially since the Nexus has Jellybean (Android 4.1), though if you include the $30 card the Nexus is about $50 more.

Nope, not true. You can buy it online at Walmart for $330 as they package a $30 prepaid card.

Problem is it's outta stock.

I think you misunderstood the comment. He's not saying you can't get the phone, rather he is saying that if he goes with the $50 plan once he gets the phone, he cannot later change to the $30 Walmart plan. The $30 plan is for "new customers only", so if the gets the phone with the $50 plan but later decides he wants the $30, he will have to get a new SIM card and activate it as a "new customer" and cancel his old SIM/plan.
