Hello and Good Afternoon all,

Just registered and had a look around, my refurbished HTC Desire should arrive tomorrow and it's my first proper outing on Android. I recently got a Samsung Galaxy Ace for my 13 year old daughter and have to say I'm hugely impressed! I will definitely find myself using Android phones for the foreseeable future.

My main reason for joining is to seek out the best information on how to get the most out of my phone, I already know what kind of Apps I'll find useful but I want to know about which version of Android is best for the relatively old Desire. As well as the benefits to rooting and custom ROM's. I know a thing or two about gadgetry and computers but I'm a complete Android Novice and the more knowledge I can arm myself with the better.

I'll also try and give back what I can in my other areas of expertise like vehicle maintenance or just basic life experience. I'm almost 30 and been in the RAF For 12 Years as an Aircraft Technician so I'm not exactly wet behind the ears when it comes to living life to it's fullest... Lol.

Shotgun's got you all set with the links to some informative goodness so I'll skip over that and take a moment to say thank you for signing up and dropping in here to say hello. My Wife and I both have HTC phones and really enjoy them. I hope yours does well for you. I hope your time here is pleasant and educational as well as exciting....Oh and enjoy your stay:)
