I don't know the phone so can't answer the first question.
For the second, if you check for updates what does it say? Updates come from the manufacturer or carrier, so unless they have made one your options are limited, but there should be an android 7 update for it. If you don't have one, is this an unlocked or a carrier model? By unlocked I mean originally sold that way, rather than a carrier phone that has been unlocked.

Ah, well in that case it's likely it will announce to you that there is an update available fairly soon. Conceivably, if it was manufactured recently, it might already be updated.
It was originally released with 6, but that was a year ago. I'd expect a phone to ship with the current version for that model at the time it was assembled, so it's possible it may come with something more recent.
