New Swype Beta Released

If you are a part of the Swype beta then there is a new version available for you to upgrade to today. To get it, you have to have been a registered tester in their program, meaning you need an email and login in order for it to work correctly. They suggest that you uninstall your old version including the installer and then download the new version from your phone here.
Here is the changelog:

  • Added German and Portuguese languages
  • Added the auto-space suppression short-cut gesture: Swype from the spacebar to backspace
  • Added the quick language switch short-cut gesture: Swype from the Swype Key to the Q key
  • Improved the word prediction algorithm to provide better support for additional languages
  • Improved handling of several gesture collisions, including want/wasn
 
I got the update email on Saturday but the download and install told me my version had expired. /shrug. I'm trying again now. I hope that's fixed since I've been pecking my keyboard like a chicken all weekend.
 
I just got this and it seems to have fixed the "Swype not working after 2.2 update" bug on my Incredible. It was getting tiresome having to reinstall every couple of days and I was about ready to uninstall for good.

Keeping my fingers crossed...
 
i registered by it says my login info doesnt exist. when i try and retrieve my password, it just says the beta is closed. any ideas?
 
I tried to download the installer. It's says I'm not using my browser on my android phone.
And I did use it to go to the link...

You need to enable Mobile view in the browser settings or it tells you your not using an Android phone.

I'm having an issue where swyping stops working but i can manually type each letter. The fix is to change to a different keyboard and back. The old version this only happened when I first started my phone but seems to be doing it much more now.

Same here. Except I was not having this problem before the update. :(
 
The ':-)' button in the screenshot above serves as an enter/return/next/go button depending on the situation
 
Mine is installed on the phone but seems really buggy now after the update. If I swype to fast it just stars entering random letters in words. Also the trail only works sometimes now.

I enjoy Graffiti, but of the 3 major Swype-Type Keyboards (Swype/Shapewriter/UltraKeyboard) I find Ulltra Keyboard the fastest and most enjoyable to use.

As a beta tester for Swype I look forward to it progressing along.

Ahhh, I never use landscape mode or I should say I avoid landscape mode whenever I can except to watch an occasional video or some games that only play in landscape mode. I keep auto-screen rotation turned off.
