New to Andriod

Hey guys!

I bought my first Android based cell and had a couple of questions.

1. I'm finding that my apps don't shut down even though I force quit the app. I have even rebooted the phone, but believe it or not, my music app (pre-loaded on MyTouch 3G) started playing again. Is this a common thing with Android? Is there a patch/update that I need to apply?

2. I know hackers are now writing up virues that attack cell phones; is there an that will secure the phone from hacks?

As to the music not shutting down: no idea. My problem is the reverse: I'd like apps to run in the background, but most don't...

I haven't had either of these problems. Have you installed any apps? if so, uninstall them one by one until you figure out which one is causing problems. Also, you could try a factory reset and try it without any apps, to see if it is some sort of glitch. Best of luck to you!

have you tried asking in the mytouch area.. may find someone with a similar issue. i had the mytouch for around a month and never really noticed the music app staying open

I think I have the music app figured out. I cleared the cache and and data under application management for Music (v4). I honestly thought my phone was possessed.

I'll definitely keep an eye out for some type of AVS for my phone.
