Hello all,

My dad just got a new HTC Desire, not being too technically blessed it has fallen upon me to be first line support as with every object which beeps.

I've noticed that the battery runs down very quickly. I've read all the forums and seen that it is due to it a:being a new battery and b:GPRS being on.

So, I can turn off GPRS, mobile networks w/e you want to call it but my dad may end up just not using the internet rather than faffing around in menus.

I'm right in thinking theres a app which can simplify turning off Wi-Fi and GPRS? All I want to know is simply "What is the name of this app?" and that it's safe to use it?

Thanks guys.

Long press on home screen > widgets > power control widget

There are other solutions in the market like extended controls and/or SwitchPro.

What is drawing power is probably one of the widgets: Facebook has been reported to do that on HTC Sense.
