New to Android, former iPhone user

Hi, I'm new to Android. I'm a former iPhone user. I love the flexibility of the Android, but some things are nerve wracking. I have a Galaxy Note jail broken, new out of the box. Can't get the USB to work. Yeah, I know. Follow the directions. They don't work. I don't need any patronizing. Just clear cut answers.

Are you trying to move files from a computer to your phone via USB? If so, when you plug in your Gnote, can you swipe down from the notification bar to reveal your USB options? That's what I do when I connect my phone to the computer. If that doesn't answer your question, you can check out our Gnote sub forums. You can find a lot of helpful people over there.
