New to apps

I am a new to the Android world and am concerned with the creators of the apps having access to info and all of a sudden I am getting a bunch of spam. Today, I was going to download a wall paper app and when I went to install it said something to the extent of having access to personal information. Any help would be appreciated.

Otherwise, I think you are stressing too much. The community catches rogue apps.
