New to customizing. :)

Make sure to crop the image right to the edges of the icon.

After you've done this, what are now the dimensions of your icons?

I'd like to customize a little without rooting. When starting, do you start working on an empty homepage? I don't want to mess up the custom pages I currently have.

Most people use another launcher, especially if you're using sense.

If you're using LauncherPro, you can backup your homescreens before starting.

It saves all of your current pages (themes). Since you are using a new homescreen launcher (Go Launcher, for example, instead of Sense UI), all of your current pages/themes remain safely in the Sense UI homescreen launcher, while you essentially create new pages/themes in your new homescreen launcher.

Ok, to achieve that pic, you dont need root:

Dock Icons: Made using Simple Text icon maker. Free from Market. Easy enough to change on LP, just long press on the dock icon you want to change and choose change icon
Top Left screen: Minimalistic text for clock
Top middle screen : Minimalistic text for battery percentage, toggles by widgetsoid
top right screen: A couple of widgets I havent encountered before. Cool search bar though
Bottom left screen: That's either colorized or LauncherPro Plus Calendar
Bottom middle: Looks like skinned official facebook and twitter widgets. I dont think these are available at market so you'd have to check XDA
Bottom right screen: That looks like TouchWiz daily briefing weather widget. Probably an apk available at XDA. The bottom one also looks like Daily briefing news widget.
