New to droid!

Hi all! I have maid the switch very recently from apple to droid. So far the change has been good. I must say that in a lot of aspects the droid has it over apple, but their are a couple of apple features that I do like. One of my fav is the fact that I could jail break the iphone to even the odds with droid. Now I have a Droid X, which I must say is 10 times slower than my 4s, but soon to be changed when I get the Razr Max. I been trying to root my X but aevery thing I have come across, is complete B.S! Please help.
