hi all. im pretty new the world of android except for being a consumer. lol i currently own an HTC Evo V and im really interested in rooting it and flashing custom roms. Ive already unlocked it using HTCdev now im just trying to find some clear instructions for a noob on rooting and flashing etc. if anyone has any tips or guides please let me know. thanks. :)

hey thanks guys. i found a guide i think will help by jerofld. its a noobs guide for rooting ans flashing. im gonna try my hand at it tonite and see wat happens.

If you can tell me what guide and what step you're on I could potentially assist you :)

I got your pm just message me back and I will try and get back to you when I can, otherwise, you might get faster responses and help if you do what olbriar said and create a thread regarding your questions and concerns in the root forum for your device.

I wish I could help you imjyoung. You have been very patient. We have a call out for help for you. Halloween and all... help is a little slim tonight. You are wise to take things slow and not jump into root without knowing for certain you are proceeding correctly.

not a problem olbriar, and thank you. i am definately taking the required precautions. im not carrying on until im sure that im headed in the right direction. i didnt really bring into consideration the "holiday" factor, but a call out for help is greatly appreciated. thank you.

I'm just sorry we aren't wowing you with assistance. Steady wins the race however. You are wise for understanding that. Though I'm no root guru, most root problems you see are people that plunged into the process and left out a critical step. Best to cross those T's and dot I's.

Oh, well i know this isnt a customer support center. LOL. And even if it was i still probably wouldnt be getting wowed with assistance. :\ but that being said, tomorrow is a new day and holds many more adventures in development. i need to regroup and give it a shot after some shut eye. Thanks for the input, greatly appreciated.

Very good imjyoung. I need to hit the sack myself. Don't be discouraged. The help team is volunteer here but outstanding and caring. If it takes a second day.. I don't think in the scheme of things you will be a bit sorry... knowing you are going down the right path.
Very nice meeting you and hope to run across you on the forums in the future.
