new to verizon and droid

Last week I switched from att and the iphone to verizon and an HTC Eris. loving the phone and android. However being new i did not research too much and saw the HTC incredible is the latest and greatest. Yes it will cost me more for the phone but maybe I shoulda sprung for it. After all I will be stuck with it for the better part of 2 years. Is there that much of a difference in the 2....I am aware of the 8.0 camera and the faster processor. don't mind spending the extra $$ if its worth it. Whatcha all think?

very possible.....he was adament on making a sale...paid my AT&T early termination fee and a few other things he offered me if i switched right then. I paid 160.00 cash for eris with 100.00 mail in rebate....so for another 50 bucks cash i can have most recent phone. think i'm gonna call verizon tomorrow cause they have ship date by 6/22 which is in my 30 days. With a new contract being stuck with a phone for 2 years I want the latest capabilities. Seems with eris I will be behind the 8ball very soon. Although very satisfied aside from the battery life...lol :))

If I'm not mistaken with Verizon you have 30 days to take your phone back and pick a different one.

verizon said as long as i do the paper work for the change within my 30 days and I'm willing to wait for the incredible...won't matter if it takes over 30 days to actually get the incredible because of the backorder....i can't wait!!!!

If I were you, I would definitely go with the HTC Incredible. If you're very new to Verizon, you should have 30 days where you can return the phone (for a small restocking fee) and then get the HTC Incredible. The faster processor is very noticeable on the Incredible as opposed to the Eris. At the pace today's cellphone race is going, it would be very wise to go with the phone that has the 1GHz Snapdragon Processor (the Incredible) as a way to help "future-proof" your phone.

Also, with Android 2.2 Froyo coming out, I would definitely want to have that on the Incredible over the Eris.

Welcome to the android community, and I hope you enjoy Verizon's superior 3G coverage! ;)
