New update last night

Last night the December Security Update snuck onto my Verizon phone. I had read an article about the December update being available in an OTA update. When I tried to get it on my phone, it was already there. I don't know how it got there without asking me first, but it did.

Just wanted to warn the Verizon people and possibly everyone else.

Another update, last night...
Me too!

My question is, What happened to asking before downloading? If I remember correctly, they use to ask if you wanted the download now or later. Now it gets downloaded without me knowing.
¯\_(ツ)_/¯

T-Mobile got this update just about 10 days ago. Always behind Verizon.

So it not only downloads but it also installs itself without you knowledge. Not even a notification in the status bar? Thats kind of sneaky.
One option is to go into your phone settings, system update, and uncheck automatic updates.

I only had that happen on the one update. The next one asked for the permission to download & again to install.
