New User! I'm having Google account issues

Hi guys! I just switched from a blackberry to the new droid 2. I really like the phone and the community is fantastic. Besides learning about the new platform, I'm trying to figure out how to get my google account's calendar to sync but the option is unavailable. I just can figure out how to get it done. Can anyone help?
I've been searching for hours. HOURS.

IIRC, you have to go into the calendar app's settings and choose what calendars to show. After you do that you should get the option to sync it. I believe that's right anyway?
