OK, my order during the recent TMO promo got cancelled and the sales rep then gave me 5 Galaxy s3 phones for $250 with mail in rebate of $250, matching the promo price of $0 per phone.
Now my intention was to keep 1 phone for me, use my existing unlocked at&t phone for 2nd line and cancel other 3 lines as well as sell 4 of the phones after paying ETF.
At the end I will be left with a family plan of 2 lines and 1 new S3 phone.
Now my question is, is there any way that I can NOT activate any of the 4 phones and still be able to cancel? Can I buy 4 prepaid sim cards and activate them as my family lines? or does tmobile need device specific info to activate these?
What is the earliest I can cancel without having to return the devices? I will also be porting over my 2 numbers from at&t.
Thank you for reading and for your advise!
PS. I dont care much for the rebate and will be happy with $250 as cost of 5 handsets if I can terminate atleast 3 lines soon enough.
