Newbe with a Scanning app question

Talibilam

Years ago my father wrote a manuscript of his experience as a P.O.W. during WW2 using a manual typewriter. I want to scan, edit and save it to Word format for eventual publishing. My question is does anyone know of a good app that will help me to accomplish this task. The manuscript is approximately 80 type written pages. Any assistance would be appreciated.

If you Google "Word Scanning App" you'll come up with a good number of options. I haven't played with it but I have heard a lot of good things about Microsoft Office Lens which should do what you want.

That said if you don't have an all-in-one printer with an automatic document feeder, I'd probably see if someplace like Kinkos can do it for you. I've scanned documents from my phone and while it is great for one off things I don't think I'd want to do it for 80 pages.

Thanks for the advice. I think I'll look into a good all-in-one printer with a doc feeder. My present printer is a dinosaur anyway (Kinda like me ). Meanwhile I'll check out the Microsoft Office Lens. Appreciate the input.
