I'm 69 years old and half lucid. Just bought a Nexus 7 and trying to do a "Hello World" app. Everything looks good as set up on Windows 7, but I don't get any action on my tethered Nexus 7 and I'm not asking for any help from
anyone at this time. I'm just saying, "Hello."

I've been retired for 10 years. I've done trainee level stuff on Apache and
Unix by setting up servers and writing little web apps for the server. I'm mostly an IBM mainframer. I also have written both Intel and Motorola assembler apps. I'm also a Microsoft Certified Professional...Hey, I had to make a living! I also run Ubuntu, but my script coding skills are heading south.

In summary, no more all nighters for me, but I still like to stimulate the gray matter on occasion. You youngsters hang in there and visit KhanAcademy.org and PTable.com to learn something besides computer stuff. Actually, get up from the keyboard and party down before you're 69 and wonder where all time went.

Jim, Welcome :ciao:,we are glad to have you, hope you enjoy the site.

Hi Jim! If you'd like a really easy way to do things way beyond just "Hello, world" you could look at a new app I'm getting ready. Called EasyCoder (look in the App Store) it's a complete (free) high-level scripting system where everything - editor, compiler and runtime - runs on your phone. I'm aiming at people who aren't programmers but still want to create stuff; games, demos, etc. Feedback welcome.

Hey, enough already with the "half lucid" thing - I'm 64 myself and still doing Java full-time for a living!
