newbie looking for a calendar app

Hi I'm new to androids and am looking for a calendar app. I'm looking for one that you can select whether you get an alert or a status bar notification for individual events (some events get an alert, some get a status bar notification). The calendar in Color Notes app does this, but it doesn't sync with Google. I have searched and tried many (free) apps with no luck. Thanks in advance.

I like Pure Calendar Grid . Sync with Google, has reminder alerts and timelines.
