Help Newbie: New box won't turn on

Hi everyone,
I had hoped to join this forum to discuss and learn about Andriod TV boxes as i've just bought my first one and have no idea what i'm doing yet.

However it won't turn on!

I had it on yesterday while trying to figure out how to use Kodi but today it'd dead! The red light (standby?) is on but I can't get it to respond to the remote power button and i've tried the "toothpick" method as per the videos i've seen on Youtube.

The box says: OTT TV BOX 4XCPU, 4XGPU
The unit has MXQ written on the top of it.

Any help would be much appreciated.

They don't even mention a brand name, so it must be embarrassingly poor quality.
Return it.

I've just boxed it ready to go! I've had nothing but issues with it.

Thanks though.

On the look out for an alternative now...
