Hello all
I bought out the remaining 5 months of my contract with Telus on a iPhone 3GS to switch to the S3. Smartest move I've made when it comes to smartphones. I didn't even consider the iPhone 5 after reading the differences compared to a S3. Just to be able to copy MP3s over like any memory device was worth the switch.
Just a couple of quick observations. I really didn't like the keyboard and predictive text. It was just difficult to use. I came across SwiftKey 3 and tried the 30 day trial. After 2 days, I bought it for $4. It was a no brainer. Made typing 100x easier.
I still can't get use to the volume buttons being where they are. I often accidently press up or down depending on how I hold the phone and may put it in silent and not know it.
I do have some questions:
1. I have a BB Playbook wall charger that has an output of 5v, 2amps. Can I use that to charge the phone or could it burn it out somehow?
2. Can leaving the screen active for long periods burn it out or reduce the lifespan of it? I use Caffeine to leave the screen on while plugged into a USB port, mostly for when listening to my Sirius XM app or music. I can pause or change tracks quickly. The headphones won't pause the Sirius XM app.
3. Has anyone figured out a way to get rid of the blank notification icons that, as an example, Caffeine uses when you tell it not to show the icon?
4. Anyone use MediaMonkey to sync music? It syncs music to my phone but the playlist files it sends over are blank. Here is a thread on MM's forum of the issue. I can't post a link in my first post. I'll try shortly
Thanks!
