Newcomer, wanting to learn

Hi,

My name is Iain, I have a Motorola Defy running Froyo on Vodafone UK.

I have rooted it, and now want to find out more about how Android works, and possibly update the phone with a custom ROM (once I understand the differences between ROMs, SBK files and everything else).

I'm sure I will be asking questions that some experienced users find a bit odd, and I apologise in advance, but we all have to learn sometime. Perhaps one day I'll know enough to help another newbie.
