News feed (fast) read options - Forums for Android

Loving the new website design, but is there a way to reduce the news items to show the headlines only? For us skim readers or when you just don't have the time to scroll through them all?

I know this may seem odd, but it takes so much more time to get through the articles now.

Thanks for the compliment and feedback!

If you haven't already, I'd consider downloading EarlyBird - News for Android, which is our Android App that includes all the news items curated on our news tab:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.androidforums.earlybird

The current design of the news tab was meant to feel more bloggish in nature, letting you access all the information from the homepage instead of having to click through. Often times the headlines are enough to get the gist of the story, but we felt this was a better user experience.

Clearly you disagree, and that's great, because we can't make changes without feedback. I'm curious to hear what other people think?

We can make a note of this request and perhaps, if we don't change it to a compact view completely, we can make a toggle to show a compact or expanded display.

Thanks for the reply Rob.

You've all done a wonderful job on the redesign and I do like the blog look, but it would be nice for a "user option" to show headlines only. If other would agree of course.

I can't say I have used the app tbh, maybe in the future I'll give it a go. But considering you now have a (lovely) app for the forums - which is not quite fully functioning as yet and your still required you to use your browser for some functions such as editing posts/formatting I don't feel I need 2 apps and a browser to use the site.:p;)

Edit: Whoops, seems the forum app strips out any emotes used.
