Google just butchered this app in an update today. News articles no longer open in your web browser so you can no longer save them to favorites. All you can do now is share the article. There is no way to save articles anymore.

My question is, can I download an older version of the app from XDA developers? And is there any way I can back up the current version of the app in case the older one doesn't work (since installing it asks me to replace the older one). I can't see the app in the market, it just came preloaded on my phone.

I'm running a Nexus S on 2.3.6 unrooted.

You can go to menu>manage apps>all> and scroll down to News & Weather. Clear the data and, if you installed the update, click uninstall updates.

I don't see that option for this app or any other. Clearing data and cache didn't help.
