Next T-mo phone?

Hey all,

I'm due for an upgrade from my trusty ol' mt4g and have been looking at the Android smartphones T-mobile currently has to offer.

I am not impressed from what I've seen so far online.

Is there anything new coming up that makes you go "WOW! I need that!" or am I just getting the Sensation or Amaze? I'm hoping I'm missing something, since I want a phone with a much bigger screen than my trusty mt4g and definitely dual core. ICS isn't necessary as I know I will definitely root my phone and I'm not really a huge fan of ICS anyway.

Thanks for your advice, guys.

Since your concern is more of a carrier specific device...I moved your thread over to its correct forum for better responses. :)

I just looked at some non-HTC phones and found the top 3 T-mo phones I'm interested in. Comments would be appreciated.

Samsung Galaxy S Blaze
HTC Amaze
Samsung Galaxy S II

What are your opinions? What flavor of Android they're running isn't a problem since I will likely root my phone and install whatever I want on it.

Again, thanks!

I just bought an Amaze and very happy with it. Better than the Galaxy SII IMHO. The Amaze has a better screen, better build quality and actual physical camera buttons like all phones should have.

If you don't care about having a removable battery or SD card the HTC One S will be available in a week or two and is terrific.

Is the One S the first HTC/Tmo phone with sense ICS? If so I may just wait for it... Time to google it and find out what its coming with.

Wait, it doesn't have an SD Card slot?

I just read up some more about the One S and it looks like the SII and it are similar in terms of hardware. I'm not too concerned with the stock OS feel as I will be rooting and after searching through the SII forums on XDA I found a few promising roms already.

GAHHH! Such a hard decision now that I actually know more about phones. Back when I had no idea I just picked whatever cost the most, lol.

The One S does not have a SD slot or removable battery. It does have a faster CPU than the Amaze or S II, which have the same CPU/GPU.

The Amaze and SII come with Gingerbread but will soon get ICS. The One S will come with ICS.

So a slightly faster cpu and (depending on personal taste) slightly better build quality is what the One S has over a bigger screen and more development progress on it?

Actually search the reviews of the One S. Terrific reviews. Even beats the One X in most reviews and bench mark tests as well.
Fyi, t-mobile should have an All Phones Free deal on Mothers Day and Fathers Day weekends according to my source at t-mobile.
