Next wave of premium phones

Right now it seems the main choice in the Android premium market is GS3 or OneX/EvoLTE. Both of these were released around May (I think) and Apple should be releasing a new iPhone in Sep/Oct when those phones will be about 5-6 months old.

With no new Nexus phone being mentioned and the Galaxy Note in a different class b/c of size, are the two above premium phones likely the ones to go head to head against the iPhone 5? Shouldn't Samsung and HTC have something prepared to really give those people looking to get an iPhone reason to pause?

My situation, I've been an iPhone user for the past 4 years but am seriously looking at switching to Android in the Sept-Dec time frame.

There are rumors of a new Galaxy Nexus, just nothing concrete at this point. OTOH, any announcement of a new Nexus is not likely to occur until November (when the current Nexus was announced last year), so it isn't surprising we haven't had any concrete rumors yet.

I will agree that the HTC One X/Evo LTE and Samsung GS3 will be solid competitors to the iPhone 5, particularly if they have been updated to Jellybean. If they are updated to Jellybean, I'm not sure what specs that a new iPhone might have that will be better (outside of the Apple interface, for those that prefer it), especially as we already know the new features of iOS6.

It will be interesting, once the iPhone 5 is officially announced, to see how these phones compare.
