Help Nexus 10 Charger

htc 1on3

Lurker
Hi, just bought what appears to be a new nexus 10 from an online auction but it came without the charger cable so I have tried to charge it with a mini usb cable from the computer and a htc desire charger but to no avail.

Can anyone recommend a repairer in the Manchester area who I could take it to and ask them to have a look at it and see if the problem can be fixed.

I'm an auctioneer by trade so I know the pit falls when buying online, sold as seen, no guarantee etc so I have no problem with the seller. Hopefully its something that can be reparied easily otherwise its back online and sold as "not working".

thanks

I've moved this to the Nexus 10 forum :)

On topic: Your Desire charger wouldn't work because the power rating required to charge the Nexus 10 is likely higher than that of your Desire's charger. You would need to get a charger for the N10 (which Google doesn't list on Google Play). You may want to see this page (it lists the charger's specs)

You'll want a 2A charger for the N10 bud, it'll charge on less but it'll be painfully slow (however it is odd if there was no charging activity showing at all)

Oh, also the tablet can go flat and look dead while in a state of charging, first time it happened to me I thought I had a duff Nexus 10, leave it on charge for a good few hours mate.

+1 on the POGO. Charging speed change was negligible, but the lessened wear-and-tear on the USB port is worth it.

Some older devices/cables had chargers that were device-specific or didn't function on other devices. Older LG phones come to mind- a coworker's cables from an LG wouldn't work with my Samsung Galaxy Victory despite visual similarity.
