Hello. I somehow cracked my screen on my Nexus 5 (no clue how, incidentally, it was in my purse and I pulled it out and it was cracked but that is beside the point). I bought the phone direct from Google Play (US unlocked version). I see back in September, Google was replacing the screens for free but I called and apparently that is no more. You can't buy this now since the 6 is out and I do not want the 6. I do, however, want the new one that is rumored to be coming out in October. That doesn't do me much good right now. Does anyone have suggestions for the best method to get a new phone (no way I can wait 4 months with a shattered screen) or screen repair? LG said if I send it in they can fix it (for $150 and being without a phone for days) but that options doesn't seem viable. I'm in Chicago and can take it somewhere but I did that once and the job was horrible. I wish the new one was coming out soon and I'd just suck it up till then! I can't find any US versions on Amazon either.
