Nexus 5 significance for Motorolla

I am a huge google fan. I was pleasantly surprised with the moto x and I am looking forward to what else they will come out with. However, there is a daunting question I think remains unanswered. The nexus 5 seems to have been all android users have been talking about. How do you think this will affect the google + motorola partnership. I know its still early to tell but it would seem unlikely to think Google wouldnt want its own company (motorola) to be the go to android device. I think it will be interesting to see how Google handles this. Also does a possible nexus 6 by Moto mean les hype? anticipation and possibly demand?

I love my Moto X and would love to see Motorola make a Nexus device soon....if Verizon would allow it to work on their network. I am a huge Android/Google fan as well and love the stock experience of my Nexus 7. To get that on a phone would be awesome. If the Nexus 5 is that much greater than my X I may have to consider switching carriers.

It's politics: Google buying Motorola scared the bejazus out of all the Android manufacturers who naturally assumed Google would favour Moto and consequently, everyone else would get creamed in the market. There were even mutterings about significant players (i.e. Samsung) jumping ship to another O/S.

To calm things down, Google promised not to favour Moto and as an indication of just how little they were going to favour them, they continued to have other companies make the development platform - Nexus - devices.

My guess is this will contine for a while yet making Moto possibly the company least likely to make a Nexus in the next few years.

Shame: it would be nice to see what the pure Google software AND hardware experience would be ..
