Help Nexus 5 with very little battery life.

So I bought a nexus 5 3 months ago and i found out that its battery life on android 5.0.1 is very very low. I have to charge it 2-3 times a day. So I am using 3g only while everything is disabled. Yes every thing is disabled and when I use internet for 5 mins , I lose 7% of my battery. And by that I found out I can run for 2- 2.5 hours after charging. My phone is rooted. Please tell me what apps can I use, and what else can I do.

I had a battery problem and read that you are supposed to use the charger cord that came with the device. That helped me. Also, they say NOT to stop everything on the device. It works better if you don't do that.
