Help Nexus 5X car bluetooth problems

I attempted to connect my shiny new N5X with my 2012 Acura...and the Acura can't seem to locate the phone :(

Does the N5X have some new bluetooth standard or something that makes this a permanent problem going forward? It seems incredibly poor to me that a relatively late model vehicle would be trapped in time like this. I did check Acura's list of "supported devices" - which I of course did not expect to already contain a cutting edge new product. However, my last phone (M7) is not on that list either and pairs just fine.

Any solution or workaround to this that doesn't involve some aftermarket product?

Help!!! (Otherwise, I am going to send it back to Google)

My new Nexus 5X pairs fine with my BMW 2015 but my problem lays with my Asus ZenWarch. It appears to pair but it does not communicate. Maybe 6.0.1, whenever it comes out will fix both our problems which are related to Bluetooth.

I initially had issues getting my 5X to connect to anything via BT, but when I tried again a day later, suddenly it worked and I managed to pair with a speaker, with my car and with a Blackberry BT thing that lets me play music in the car (coz BT on my 5 year 0ld BMW doesn't support music - it was a £800/$1,200 optional extra. For something that probably cost them to disable rather then enable).

The only difference I can think is that there were fewer BT devices around second time I tried - I was picking up lots of phones and devices when I tried in town.

Hi Something User,

Could you please answer below queries and try following things
1. When u say your phone is not visible on car, what do you mean? First time pairing is only allowed from car, when u put ur car bluetooth in pairing mode cant ur find ur car bluetooth name on your phone?

2. When you cant find your phone on ur car, are u in ur phones bluetooth settings menu? for your phone to be discoverable to other bluetooth devices nearby you have to be in bluetooth settings menu, if u are in ur home screen and trying to find out your phone on the car, it will never find it

Try to be in bluetooth settings menu and then try to see if you can find your phone in cars menu. Also if there is an option to find ur car on ur phone try that

My Fiat 500 2012 has been playing Pandora via an audio bridge from a nexus 5 for several years. The 5X music is garbled at the same places, same time of day ...

My 2013 Alfa Romeo connects just fine, but I've noticed i have to be in the bluetooth menu for other devices to locate the N5x
