Nexus 6 becomes painfully slow with low(ish) battery

Anybody else experiencing this issue? My device is not rooted, it's running the latest version of the OS on Project Fi. I have 32 GB storage and more than half of that is free space. I am very conservative with apps installed, and only keep those I use frequently. Nothing other than keeping battery over 50% full seems to help.

Do you notice at what power level the slowness begins? IT could be in some sort of 'saver mode' that disables services to conserve power.

It starts to slow at approx. 50% charge, and it gets worse as the charge decreases. Batt. saver is set to automatically turn on when the battery reaches 15% charge.

A few months ago I had an issue where my phone would hit in the 50-60% battery range and die. Other times it would reach 1% and last another hour or so. Eventually it even out and would power of at 20%. On a full charge I was getting maybe 5hrs out of the device. I finally did a factory reset and it helped alot. I am back up to about six-eight hours of battery life and my phone usually powers off now at 2% battery life
