Greetings;

Just received our Nexus 7 recently and downloaded Lolllipop -now we are having a lot of problems with it.
So, wanted to go back to the system we had and did a factory rset-and that did not work. So, how do you get the lollipop out?

Hi and welcome to the forum Carol :)
The biggest misnomer about doing a factory reset is that it will undo anything that has been done to the device. The proper term is a Factory Data Reset. The only thing a FDR does is delete all user data and apps from the tablet (usually excluding the internal memory/sdcard)

To downgrade the tablet to a previous operating system you need to connect it to a computer and communicate with it using a utility called fastboot.

This is the guide to flashing (installing) a factory image on a nexus device

Note: each factory image is VERY specific to the device, so don't attempt this unless you are very sure you understand the process and the risks involved and are 100% sure the image you are installing is for your device and model
