Help Nexus 7 Media Importer - how do I write to the USB stick?

Hi all,

I'm playing around with 'Nexus 7 Media Importer' that now supposedly allows writing to the connected USB stick. I have files on the N7 that I would like to copy over to the USB stick. I can select the files on the N7 but the 'Copy' menu-item on the N7 is not active - its greyed out.

How do I write to the USB stick?

Thanks all.

Sounds like your doing the right thing. The only thing I can think of is what format is your USB stick? I think only fat 16 and 32 are supported.

(Its FAT32 - thanks)

Oh no! I never thought of that. That sucks if I need root. Kind of a waste of $2.99 as I was only interested in saving files FROM the N7. I guess I will have to go the old-fashioned route and hook it to my PC via USB.

Thanks :(

It does support write now. Go into the settings for Nexus Media Importer, check the enable write box. It only writes to FAT, FAT32, and NTFS. No root required.

Good call forgot about that little tick box, well it is new. Did it straight away when I updated Media Importer so it just slipped my mind. That was a good update. Great app.

I had to go through and figure it out after the update as well, went back and read the Google Play app page and saw that you had to enable it. All I saw was supported write without root and hit update... LOL.
