Hey everyone,

So as of late I have been having some trouble with my Nexus 7 tablet (first generation). Simply put, it won't charge. Right now it has a battery life of 25% and it is dedicated to staying there or descending lower. I tried resetting it. I tried multiple USB chargers, both of which will charge other android/samsung devices just fine. I plug it in and for a few seconds the charging icon appears, but then suddenly it goes away. I have left this thing charge overnight: nothing, nada, zip. Can anyone help?

It sounds as though you've done pretty much everything I would suggest.

Also, if you've factory reset and it's still the same, it points to a hardware issue meaning you'll need to give Google/Asus a call, sorry. :(

I'd agree with El P. You could also try putting slight pressure on the sides, top, and bottom of the USB connector when it is plugged in to see if the port has been stretched as my son had warped his port when using it while plugged in:(. For a while we were able to loop the cord underneath and it would maintain contact, but ultimately I had to replace the port.

Another option is a Qi charger so you don't need to use the port for charging.
